All-in-one 22-3025na
05-19-2020 06:29 AM

My father in law is isolating due to COVID-19 and has boot problems on his All in one 22-3025na desktop. He has said that following a HP software update the system is stuck in a 'continual BIOS repair loop' - this happened over the weekend, the exact HP update that he triggered is not known to me.
I wondered what steps can be taken to reprogram the BIOS on the motherboard (I've seen a HP video about start-up with windows and B buttons pressed, not sure if that is applicable to the subject machine ?)
I am trying to find a list of options that he can try remotely. If those fail, I am happy to program a USB stick with an ISO boot image and new BIOS programme if that is what is required (depends whether there is enough BIOS function buried to start the USB driver stack...) - if someone can point me at the right info. The aim is to recover the system to boot in to Windows on the current hard drive, in order to recover data on the machine.
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Update - my father in law has previously tried the key combination to return to a previous BIOS version, so it looks like a full BIOS reprogram is needed from some sort of external device...
