HP Z840 Workstation Xeon E5-2680 v4

Hello,

When I try to modify any BIOS setting with several options using  F10, the setup intermediately freezes and becomes completely unresponsive. It is a 3-year-old HP Z840 workstation bought recently on Ebay without detectable hardware issues. BIOS is the latest (2.50) version but I have also tried 3-4 previous versions as well as  erasing  CMOS and removing hardware components.

At the same time, the HP BIOS configuration utility works fine. So I was wondering what may be behind the F10 problem? Could it be a hardware (motherboard/BIOS chip) fault or something else?

Any help and hint would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Janis
