1. excuse my (probable) incorrect choices of "Board" and "Category"
options are much too broad-based for the 'techno-inept' like me.
2. My brain seems incapable of processing the necessary grey matter
to understand what the hell a~my 'BIOS' is or what I should do with it
3. Seems there are as many opinions as people when it comes to whether
one ~ I should adjust/update/change/correct my Bios. What do you say?

Greetings, @TexasIndian,
Generally, you shouldn't worry too much about BIOS.
Remember to make your BIOS selections carefully. Wrong BIOS settings can lead to problems.
From time to time, keep your desktop updated as per HP: HP ENVY Desktop PC TE02-0000i (3Y3Q7AV) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support, and allow HP's Software & Driver utility to look for stuff -including BIOS, that can be updated, and you should be A-OK -especially if your PC runs well, meeting your expectations:
Also, stay up to date with Windows updates: Update Windows - Microsoft Support.
Speaking of keeping your ENVY up to date, if you want to, download/install Intel's 'Driver & Support Assistant': https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html.
Kind Regards,
