Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

F.25 updated to F.27 and it restarted now 2 hours later the flashing power light is still flashing and I have a hot box in the corner of my room.

Can I ;-

  1. Turn it off?
  2. Roll back to F.25 which was working fine by the way?
  3. do something else?
  4. Does this always happen? looking at some threads it appears to be common that the BIOS does not work

@deo160,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that after the bios update the computer is not booting to Windows.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • How did you install the bios?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend you try rolling back the bios to the previous version and check whether it resolves the issue. Follow the steps in the below article to roll back the bios.

If you continue to face the issue, I recommend you contact HP phone support to further diagnose the issue.

Here is how you can get in touch with the phone support.

  1. Click on this link – https://hp.care/2moMFSc
  2. Click on “Continue as guest”.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on “Show Options”.
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
