With the PC starting up, it is sometimes difficult to "catch it" at the right time.  From what I have come up with is an almost sure fire method of getting into the BIOS on an HP PC.

 Start tapping the Esc key BEFORE starting the PC and then press the start button.
Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick you can pick from that popup menu for whatever category it is you wish to see.
