OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 880-160se CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Did an update on bios today 2/3/2021, Using HP Support Assistance, All went well until automatic restart.

Now it's just cycling On/Off for ever.

Something went wrong.

It may need a bios chip.

I do not know what to do.

IMay have to send it to repair.

Please help.

Hi,

Try all steps at this site (Link).

You will need factory service if the above BIOS recovery options fail.

Don't do HPSA BIOS updates in the future.

Hey Buddy!

Before I went to bed, I tried and guessed what? ... It did work!

Now I won't be able to sleep because I'm happy ... Before I was not able to sleep because I was sad ...

Thank you very much.

I will send you a bottle of Baileys if I could!

Hi,

@Filler1 ,

Start a new thread.

Try removing the CR2032 battery to reset CMOS. Let the PC sit for a couple of minutes.

I don't think you can do USB BIOS update with your product number. The BIOS update would give this option when you run the executable on a different PC.

You may need factory service.

Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't.

That is the only thing I haven’t yet, I’ll plug it out over night and try it in the morning. (I’m European so it’s really late here :p)

edit: will start a new thread if I still have this issue once I test it.

Wish You The Best. Mine worked with Windows + B key simultaneously and hold them then hit Power Button for 2-3 seconds and release. Just like Link said. God Luck! 👍👍

Hi,

Maybe a local PC tech could flash the BIOS using a USB EEPROM programmer.
