Hi @Helpme-0,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Omen Victus 15 laptop BIOS is indicating that you're in the wrong operating mode, it typically means that the system is set to UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) mode, but the operating system installation or the current configuration might not be compatible with this mode.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue.

Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings. You can usually access this by pressing a specific key during the boot process (commonly Esc, F2, F10, or Del).
  • Look for an option related to the boot mode or operating mode. Ensure that it is set to the correct mode. If your system supports both UEFI and Legacy modes, try switching between them to see if it resolves the issue.

Check Operating System Compatibility:

  • Ensure that your operating system is installed in the correct mode (UEFI or Legacy). If you're using a Windows operating system, reinstall it in the mode that matches your BIOS/UEFI settings.

Secure Boot:

  • If your laptop supports Secure Boot, check its status in the BIOS/UEFI settings. Secure Boot is often associated with UEFI mode. Make sure it is enabled if you are using UEFI mode.

Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware:

  • Visit the HP support website for your laptop model and check for any BIOS/UEFI updates. If available, download and install the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with the operating mode.

Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • If you're unsure about the settings, you can try resetting the BIOS/UEFI settings to their default values. There is usually an option within the BIOS/UEFI to reset settings to default.

Always exercise caution when making changes in the BIOS/UEFI settings, as incorrect configurations can lead to system instability.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
