Black screen after log in.

When I restart my pc, or just power it on, the screen is fine, it loads the locked screen. I log in and everything, it takes a while to log in, which doesnt bother me, however. then it goes to a black screen for atleast 15mins, (sometimes longer) before loading my normal home screen. Everything runs fine and it did not do this, before a windows update, I think  that may be the problem, but ive tried looking for more updates, or like fixes, and it doeesnt seem that anyone else has had this happen, atleast not yet. The update was automatic, and happened while i was away from my desktop, I only know it happened because it tells you when you restart that it is loading the updates and what not.
