My computer turns on normal and shows me the screen to log in but once I log in the screen goes black and you can see the mouse move around however when I go to task manager it fails.

Does Windows completely boot, to show the "wallpaper" and the icons on the desktop?

 

If so, at the bottom left input-area, type "system restore".

Choose to launch this app, to "time-warp" Windows back to a date/time at which it was working properly.
