Bluescreen on a newly unboxed Omen PC

OMEN by HP 880-000 Desktop PC series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A few hours after unboxing a new OMEN by HP Desktop PC 880-042no (bought on the HP Sweden web site) we suddenly got a blue screen with the stop code: Page fault in non paged area.
After rebooting we could hear two short and two long beeps (2+2, but not quite sure about the order of long and short)
After a new reboot, no beebs, and the computer fan and light is on, but the screen is black.
That’s it.

Bluescreen on a newly unboxed Omen PC

Hi

What programs or drivers did you install on this new PC before it crashed?

This type of error could mean you have a hardware problem.

You have to decide if you want to troubleshoot a new PC yourself, contact HP Support, or return to seller. I know what I would do with a new PC that Blue Screens shortly after setup.

The HP factory image is validated and stable.

Most likely hardware unless you installed something to cause this problem.

So far we have installed the following software

(the Omen PC is primarily a game computer)

* Steam (steampowered.com) + Rocket league (game)
* Battlenet (Blizzard entertainment) + Overwatch (game)
* Discord
* Google chrome
* Spotify

thanks,

Anders

Hi bergonse

You are welcome.

Thanks for the additional information. :Wink:

The software you have installed should not cause this problem.

Double check video connections to the PC and the monitor. Try a different data cable.

You have no video. This means you may have to venture into the chassis to start the troubleshooting process.

I really believe (unless the monitor connection to your new PC is bad) you have a hardware problem.

A Blue Screen on a new PC is not good to see. This usually means you have a PC hardware problem or a hardware driver problem.

You have no video so you can't even try an HP factory recovery.

There is no way to troubleshoot your new PC without on screen video.
