HP Pavallion All in One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Screen went blue after latest round of Window updates came in last week.  Critical Stop code error, Critical process died.    Keep getting looped, cannot get to windows safe mode.   BIOS diagnostics say no hard drive found.  Finding this hard to believe that a windows 10 update could completely wipe my hard drive.  Looking for suggestions as I'll be out $700 on my investment a couple of years ago.  Need some answers HP as I don't want to spend money on a new computer.

  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Also run a Hard drive test from F2 Diagnostic

All tests passed except for warning on hard drive short DST in BIOS.  Rebooted, said was repairing then opened up HP recovery manager.  Restore option is grayed out, only thing I can do is open a command prompt.   Not sure what do from here.

Thanks

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file inorder to install Windows operating system. Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06162205 to Use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7)

I tried to download the recovery tool to a usb device.   The product ID is invalid and will not let me download when I enter the product ID.  The computer I am using do download is also a HP All in one, and that product ID is valid and this computer is older than the one with the issues.  The computer we are trying to fix  has a 11 digit ID number, starts with V* and ends with #ABA.   The computer is an all in one from 2016.

Suggestions?  Thanks

Can you/HP send me a HP recovery CD?.   I have a cd-rom on my computer.    THere was not one included when I purchased the all in one computer.

Looks like the windows update has crashed many computers as this and other computer message boards are encountering the same issue.  Windows has acknowleged the issue but does not give any help at all to people who have had their systems crash due to this update.

Thanks
