Model: HP Envy x360
Operating System: Microsoft (details unknown, cannot boot computer to view)
Purchased: late July 2021
Use: Work only (email, word, excel, pdf, Google)
On October 12, 2021 (less than 3 months after purchase), I went to start take my laptop out of sleep mode and it would not boot properly. It will get to the log-in screen, but once I put in my password or pin, the screen goes black (except for the white cursor) and that is it. I am not sure if the computer underwent an automatic update during the night, I hope not, but it is possible.
The device is completely inoperable and HP support and Best Buy "Geek Squad" (where I purchased the product) are unable to assist without me paying hundreds of dollars to simply do a hard reset/data recovery for what seems to be a product defect. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. More information, including troubleshooting history is included below.
BIOS??: Prior to going to Best Buy's "Geek Squad", I had a multiple tech friends troubleshoot extensively, and one determined that she believed the problem was a “BIOS” issue and showed me an error message that she uncovered that said that the BIOS files are not found/corrupted. She advised that she was unable to download the correct "BIOS USB recovery drive" (quotation taken verbatim from error message on computer) for my model because it was not available on HP's website. When I showed this error screen to the Best Buy Geek Squad guy, he just asked what she was trying to do. He did not seem to have any interest in pursuing this possible fix and just quoted me on a hard reset and data recovery. They charge $200 for data recovery and $100 for a hard reset. I declined.
HP Support: I called HP and they were unable to troubleshoot because they said this was an issue that requires a diagnosis from Geek Squad (at Best Buy, where I purchased) diagnosis and that they would quote me for cost of repairs. I asked him about the 1-year manufacturer’s warranty, and he advised that it was my responsibility to take note of issues and bring the computer in for repairs within the first 14 days.
This is my first time posting in this kind of forum. If anyone reads this, thank you for taking time out of your day, whether or not you can offer a suggestion.

Hello
I do not know what this geek squad is, but I do not understand this answer that HP Support would have given.
Aside from, the data recovery, the computer being guaranteed, must be repaired by HP, not by someone else.
I do not understand what you are talking about when you say that you have been told a bios driver problem
Either you have a problem with the bios, or it will be a problem with the drivers, it is not the same thing!
Try to recover the data, you will have to see then to reinstall the computer, if possible
You can try several things in order to try to recover your data,
You can try a bootable cd / dvd type live cd (linux)
https://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-retrieve-windows-files-using-a-linux-live-cd/
you can try removing the hard drive, in order to connect it to another computer internally, or with a usb adapter!

If your disk is not completely out of order, this gives you a small chance

Hello, thank you for your time. I edited the post to remove the word "driver" after "BIOS". I am not tech-proficient and do not know what any of these things mean - just trying to regurgitate what a techy friend tried to explain to me. Apologies for the confusion.
After I pushed the manufacturer's warranty issue, Best Buy eventually did offer to send the device off to have the fan issue checked but I declined, as the fan issue is the absolute least of my concerns at this point.
Thank you for your response. Hope you have a nice day.

No worries, try to recover your data
Once this is done, we will try to reinstall the computer
if nothing can be done, the guarantee must work, we cannot refuse it to you
