Move the jumper to the left then power-on for a second or two.

PSWD jumper moved.  Didn't help. Also before i tried to reset CMOS, pulled out the battery, left the PC without AC and battery for 36 hours. Also followed the instruction in HP website.  Nothing helped

Can't reset Power-On password

Hi

With the CMOS battery out, unplug and hold the power on button for 20 seconds, and then applying power, battery still out, can you enter the BIOS at all?

Can you remove the HDD and post/boot anything?

What is your make model and OS?

There are other possibilities.

Hi,

I did as you described/. But didn't help.

Also i tried without HDD. Same situation.

And i can't enter the BIOS. Because first requires a power-on password

Can't reset Power-On password

Hi

I dont know of one.

But it is possible to enter a password incorrectly 3 times and need an override password.

However I do not know your circumstances and cannot suggest a course of action, like the above or using chntpw from a DVD running Ubuntu.

I read in other questions, there is a factory password that resets the password. First need to enter incorrect password 3 times. After will show some code, and with this code can ganerate factory password. But i  don't see this code after 3 times

Can't reset Power-On password

Hi

My problem is you have been given guaranteed reset procedures and they haven't worked.

Therefore a screen shot of the screen message may move us forward.  Camera, Photo, & post png.
