Change Boot Ordeer

HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Tower
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Cloned original C:\ drive to an SSD drive then followed the windows procedure to get to BIOS to change the boot order:

  • Settings
  • Update and Security
  • Recovery - Restart Now
  • Troubleshoot
  • Advanced Options
  • UEFI Firmware Settings
  • Restart

The last restart does not take me to BIOS. I just get a blank screen. Esc key gets me back to Windows, but I don't want to format the original C:\ drive for other use until I am able to change the boot order.

I've gotten to BIOS settings before with other HP desktops, but it's been so long I've forgotten how. I seem to recall it had something to do with the F6, F7, or F8 key. How do I do it?

@gwcowling323, welcome back to the forum.

You should begin tapping the Esc key, as soon as, the computer begins to boot.  This will take you to the Startup Menu.  You can choose where to go from there.
