I would like to boot from my USB recovery thumb drive but BIOS does not permiit selection a USB drive as a boot priority. Is there a BIOS update which will permit selection booting from a USB drive. Otherwise, is there a workaround which will permit me to run thy repair drive on the disk which I have now configured as a second, slave drive? Thank you.

Hi,
Older PCs may not support USB boot. A BIOS update may not be available.
It would not be possible to boot to a USB device if your PC's BIOS does not have this option and USB is enabled in the BIOS.
Can you read/write to USB devices in Windows?
You need to provide the full product number to check HP's Driver download site for a possible BIOS update.
