I accidentally unplugged my Hewlett-Packard desktop and now it appears that it is corrupted.
My PC did not come with a boot disk and attempting to use the computer to find a solution is very time-consuming. It takes a good five minutes for anything to open. When I try opening Excel, Word, etc I get an error - “Something went wrong. We couldn’t start your program. Please try starting it again later”. I have re-searched the Internet for solutions, but my inexperience makes me reluctant to try things.
I am desperate I have memory problems and all of my files are on that computer, my medications, my appointments, my bills . . . everything!
What can I do?
What should I do?

Sorry no one responded to you before this, but the priority here is to have you get your information off the drive, as fixing this is a long, complicated, and very expensive process -- even IF it can be fixed.
You will need to take off the case and remove the hard drive, then connect that drive to another PC using a cable, and then use File Manager to located your files on that drive and copy them to another PC.
If you are not experienced in doing this, then you best bet is to take the PC to a local PC service facility and pay them to do this for you. At least this way, you will have your files.
And in future, make an offline backup to a USB stick of critical files like this -- as any PC can fail on a moment's notice.
