DESKTOP CPU FAN not detected.

Microsoft Windows XP

MY Desktop computer says ERROR: CPU FAN not detectect......,sytem will shutdown to avoid damage to the system it will then shutdown but the CPU FAN and the CASE FAN are all working.

You are running Windows XP?

 

Your PC must be quite a few years old.

 

I would think the problem is in the BIOS if all fans are running.

 

Try removing and replacing the MB CR 2032 battery to reset CMOS.

 

It may be time to buy a new HP PC if this suggestion does not fix this problem.

 

You could try replacing the CPU fan but this looks like the MB is slowly dying or the MB battery is running out of juice.
