Desk top hardrive pavilion on start up beeps 5 times, no screen.
Tried the esc button on start-up, nothing.
Have ti unplug to get it to stop beepeing.
Please help!!

Hi:
When the PC beeps 5 times it means there is a problem with the memory or the system board.
The easiest things to try are these.
1. Remove and firmly reseat the memory modules.
2. If the beeping persists, remove all memory modules but one, and test each one in the primary memory slot (usually the one closest to the processor), and repeat for each module. Replace the faulty modules if the beeping stops with some, and not others.
If the beeping continues after each memory module has been tested individually, most likely the motherboard has failed.
