HP ProDesk 400 G5 SFF

Hello,

After the desktop performed a windows update by itself it restarted and then started to turn on and off repeatedly. I have uploaded a small video of the behavior here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOSzRx6VhxI

I tried a hard reset, restarting the CMOS, changing the power supply and motherboard. Later I found out that 3 other desktops (same model and characteristics) started to behave the same and one of them was doing a windows update right before.

Since I was unable to isolate the problem. I tried putting the hard drive on another PC and the problem persisted, funny enough now the other system started to behave the same way.

They are still under warranty and I tried the HP contact support but the chat is unavailable in my region and the phone numbers provided do not work either. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

You replaced the MB and the power supply (common culprits). A short can cause this behavior which causes the power supply to reset.

You moved the HDD to a different PC. Now you have the same problem on a different, stable PC.

Bad HDD?

Regards
