Hi
Check this Forum thread for a fairly complex procedure to restore an older BIOS version when your PC is unstable but usable. Have a PC Tech reprogram the BIOS using a Serial ISP Programmer if the PC is unusable.
You have a different MB but a similar problem; a faulty HP Firmware update pushed to your PC by Windows Update.
Check all responses at this link to get a clear idea on the procedure.
Also, after fixing the problem I would not do HPSA BIOS updates.
Also stop HP Firmware updates offered by Windows Update.
Enter Advanced System Settings in Search. Select the Hardware tab.
Select Device Installation Settings. Select No. Save changes.
Select Apply then OK.

Hello.
Thank you for your time and effort to help me.
I checked the forum thread and also others aswell and sadly that does not work for me. Any Intel/AMI/AFU/APTIO/HP/ tool and/or software does not work.
Either i get error 46: Cannot read bios information (something like that) from AMI tools
or
System image corrupt from HP/Intel tools.
I have also tried the win + b + power with USB which also does not work. Only thing i can do is to Flash the same version v80.23 after which some system files go corrupt/missing.
Worst part is that my PC works, but the random reboots are awful. I'm also worried that those reboots can cause hardware damage and they certainly will and do damage files on the hdd/sdd.
Can i do a BIOS recovery with the onboard jumpers available? If so, what is the procedure?
I know that a 100% valid solution is to reflash the BIOS with a SPI programmer. Sadly i do not own one, and my tech guy who can do that will need around 2-3 days to get it done. I need my pc for work and can not afford 2-3 days without it.
Currently im using it as is, but the random reboots are killing me. Also had to reinstall Win 11 yesterday because it was too damaged to boot.

Hi
I don't know if the MB has a programmable BIOS header. It would be near the BIOS chip and is not the same as a reset CMOS header. You would still need a serial programmer to flash the BIOS using this method.
Very surprised the Aptio V AMI Firmware Update Utility is not working.
