Dual Hard Drives, Selective at Boot

HP Compaq 6000 Pro Microtower PC
Other

I have two 250Gb hard drives; one has WinXP Pro installed, the other has Win10 Pro installed, I would like to be able to selectively choose which hard drive to boot at startup.  Thus far I have been unable to accomplish this.

Dual Hard Drives, Selective at Boot

Big Dave:

Since this is a new-to-me-process, how exactly does Easy BCD work?

Does it interrupt the post process to select the hard drive OS to load?

Or does it somehow provide a hot switch from one hard drive to the other?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

EASYBCD has a get help system and forum.  I suggest that you go there for further assistance.

Actually I had tried EasyBCD before, this time it progressed to the point of getting a selective boot menu; WinXP Pro worked fine, but selecting Win10 Pro for some reason corrupts the FAT, thus I'm presently in the restoration mode and will pursue other avenues.

Thanks anyway Big Dave I appreciate the help,

Hi,

You are probably just making a procedural error either with the order in which the operating systems are installed or not installing the boot manager correctly.  I suggest that you contact "Terry" on the EASYBCD forum.  He is very knowledgeable with getting EASYBCD to work.

Good luck and happy dual booting!
