H81440t turns on but won't show hp logo and harddrive light comes on and stays. Fan also runs.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I came in this morning and found my desktop running with the harddrive light on continously. No flicker. Fan was blowing loud.  I checked my laptop and Windows had updated and it needed a restart. After restart all was well with the laptop.

I had no picture on monitor. After waiting for hours there was no change. Cntl Alt Del would not restart so I turned off with power button. Upon power up, nothing ever shows on the monitor. The harddrive light comes on and the fan comes on and it does nothing else.

@general0, welcome to the forum.

There are a couple of possibilities that could be causing your problem: 1.) a failing power supply unit (PSU) or 2.) a failed/ing hard drive.  Here is a guide to help you diagnose the problem.  Also, here is another guide for diagnosing a power problem.
