HELP!! my ENVY 700 PC Series (E6S61AV#ABA) will not power on!

HP Envy 700-230qe
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

 I am truly desperate as a first year teacher I have just about EVERYthing on this computer....

 

  • GREEN LIGHT is on when plugged in
  • Power Button will not power on the PC

 

 

  • My wife says, " I plugged the Kindle into the computer and then the screen went black. Then there was a message came on in white on the black screen and it said 'autosaving...something or other'. Then it shut off and wouldn't turn back on!"
  • I troubleshot this for quite awhile. I checked the power source thoroughly, and am now willing to try ot embark on some BEEP TEST that I am clueless how to perform. 

 

PLEASE--ANYONE??

@benjy77, welcome to the forum.

 

It doesn't sound like you have a hard drive problem.  If you can't get the computer to boot, you can remove the hard drive and retreive your data using a USB adapter and another desktop or laptop.

 

Here is a guide that will help you troubleshoot the problem further.

 

I have to be an old geekster and remind you that a backup of your important data is imperative.  Please get a USB hard drive or two to use for this purpose.  If the data is very important to me I have it on at least two USB hard drives and in One Drive, as well.
