@Lumpy50 -- when you power-on the computer, do any lamps light up? Do you hear any noise from the fan? Feel any air being exhausted through the vents? Does anything appear on the screen?

Do you have a friend with a "multi-meter", who can measure the voltage & amperage being produced by the power-adapter?

Where the power-supply's cord connects to your computer, is that socket loose, or otherwise has been broken-away from the motherboard?

Did you purchase the computer less than 12 months ago? If so, contact HP Support, to open a claim against the HP Warranty -- HP will fix your computer, at their expense.

Have you taken the computer (and power brick) to a local owner/operator computer store? The O/O usually is very knowledgeable about trouble-shooting any failing computer.
