HP BIOS UPGRADE & RECOVERY LOOP

Hi

A beep could indicate the fault, like a memory problem.

Initially try a hard reset.

PWR off, unplug from the wall, and PRESS and HOLD the PWR button for 15 seconds.

Re-connect and report any progress please.

HP BIOS UPGRADE & RECOVERY LOOP

Thanks. But it doesn't help, the same situation as before. It takes few minutes to give that "beep" sound for 5-6 times and then BIOS upgrade message appears, i get BIOS recovery success message and computer restarts but not in normal mode. BIOS UPgrade and Recovery continues in loop mode.

Appreciate any suggestions please.

HP BIOS UPGRADE & RECOVERY LOOP

Hi

The timing is off.

POST takes a few seconds, hopefully, then moves on thru the BIOS to the HDD.

So several minutes?

Try without the HDD connected as sometimes a replacement/backup BIOS is stored there, let it boot from a DVD/USB instead.

So what BIOS is getting upgraded, to what new shiny number?

See mine has a SSID for the system board and a BIOS number to boot, arf arf.

What you got?
