Causes of  Compaq dc5800 shuts down Issues

 

  1. Dirty Fan/Overheating
  2. Hardware Failure
  3. Wrong Charger Voltage
  4. Display Driver Crash
  5. Computer Virus

1. "dirty" electrical power -- common in some third-world countries.  Install a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to provide "smooth" electrical power to the computer.

 

2. hardware error -- run MEMTEST86 -- www.memtest.org --- for "exhaustive" testing of the RAM.

 

3. hardware error -- failing capacitor(s) on the motherboard.  How old is the motherboard?

 

4. hardware error -- failing disk-drive.  How old is it?
