I am not sure if I need a new motherboard or power supply or something else?
I have an HP desktop Pavilion 7. Worked perfectly until today.
Turned it on and nothing happened. Opened the case and all that happens is the power button flickers blue to orange quickly, the two fans run for a second, then nothing. And this cycle happens 5 or 6 times. Absolutely nothing on screen.
I tried removing the cmos, ram, mouse cord, keyboard cord, vga cord, power cord and pushing the power button for 30 seconds. I tried turning the machine on with just the power cord and it did beep 5 times with orange. (I assume because there was no ram detected). Pushed the power button again for 30 seconds, hooked everything back up, inserted the battery and ram and the same cycle as described above happened again. I think there is power, the green light on the back is on, but nothing on screen. If I need a new board I guess I will get one and fix it but I don't want to buy one if it is something else.
Once and a while also, the fane runs at crazy fast speed and doesn't stop until unplugged. Any help appreciated.
