HP 110-219 Desktop PC (ENERGY STAR)

So whenever I turn on my desktop, the power up button flashes white 5 times then stops for 3 seconds then starts again. Also, the flashing light is joined by a beeping noise that also has the same rhythm. 1 last thing, there is no ram chip in the computer. Any got any solutions? Thank you!

Hi

On some computers, the motherboard can flash or change the colour of lights on the outside of the case, such as the power button LED and the hard drive activity LED. For computers that support this technology, lights blink and provide a beep to indicate a failure condition.

LED and BEEP condition

Description

Corrective action

Power button LED blinks 5 times with 5 beeps

Memory

Reseat memory DIMM modules. If the problem is not resolved, contact support to resolve a possible RAM or Main-Board failure.

Hi! Thanks for the reply.

My computer is built with mostly laptop components, therefore when it was purchased, it did not come with DIMM modules in it.

Hi

The 5 beeps are for a Main Board fault/Memory problem.  You do not mention the amount of memory or that you have tested/changed it for known good components.

First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat

AND/OR - Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).
