I have tried all the different components leading up to the motherboard as the culprit. The computer was running fantastic until one day it started but would not boot up. I am willing to put in a new motherboard but the challenge has been determining what a compatible motherboard would be. HP support won't answer this for free. My motherboard is a Gigabyte M3970 AM-HP Angelica Rev 1.2. I contacted Gigabyte who said I might not be able to buy a retail motherboard and I should check with HP since this is likely an OEM motherboard. This is my last try otherwise I guess I need to buy a new computer.
Any help or advice would be appreciated!
Jeff

Thank you for the reply and suggestions. It seems from my extensive searching I can only purchase a used one on eBay. Unfortunately, it is only a few and they are all from sellers in foreign countries. I am not comfortable with that.
So at this point it seems my only option is a new computer.

Hello
Yes, HP usually stops providing replacement parts after a couple of years or so. Maybe about three years which aligns with the extended warranty period.
I wouldn't buy used parts from unknown sources either. The shipping probably costs more than the component!
Check the HP store for purchase options.
