HP ENVY All-in-One - 32-a1007ns
Microsoft Windows 11

At least once a week or once every two weeks my pc has to be manually booted (on the reset power bottom) after being frozen with black screen. After manually pressing the power bottom for several times, than a cmos error checksum appears and the machine starts with bios default values

I have already reinstalled bios, assuming either c ustom or default configurations, I performed HP Hardware assistant tests as well as system tests called by bios config menu, I tried different power options on windows and no success. I am also not able to find local (Portuguese) HP assistance to this machine that was not available at the time it was bought. Until now I was unable to find cause and fix the problem.

I don't know if this is related but the wi-fi card had to be replaced for two times and previously (not now anymore) the error appearing after computer freezing/shutdown was temperature. Again on those cases it was necessary to push the power bottom.

It is hard to believe this is happening specially to HP that apparently has so many web and physical resources and no problem can be diagnosed by software or local technicians found. I already spent some hours to try to find hp support for several times looking for how to create an assistance ticket and it is impossible due to broken links or service nonexistence.

Hello promethee,

Battery is not a problem since bios is not loosing date & time. Close checksum is the problem together with computer freezing

For it !
But I say sometimes it is, indeed, not always, it's worth a try.
Otherwise, it's a bios problem, much more difficult to solve!
