@JURASSICWORLD , welcome to the forum.

I am sorry that you are having problems with your computer.  Here is a guide to help you run the HP Diagnostics from UEFI (BIOS).  Follow the instructions to see what happens.

Hello,

Thank you for your very fast message.

I looked and did as the GUIDE said.

The Issue:

From off, Turning the PC on and pressing ESC many times, go to a black screen with the text, as in the last message about Processor, Ram, etc.

I then pressed F2 to see if it would take me there but it stayed on that black screen with the Processor, Ram info.

Please could you help me with your next steps.

Thank you again!

🙂

Hello,

I found a thread in this forum.

The person has a almost identicle black screen.

My information on screen is different,

it says, just as in my post #1:

: a black screen with white text saying -

- Processor type Intel i7

- Processor speed 2700Mhz

- L1/L2/L3 Cache Size 32KBx4 / 256KBx4 / 8192KB

- Memory Size: 16384 MB DDR3 / 1600 Mhz / Dual Channel

Channel A: XMM 8192 MB

Channel A: XMM 8192 MB

- BIOS Revision/Date v80.10 07/03/2018

- At the bottom of the screen it says "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu".

>>> I have pressed ESC many times, and restarted and got back to this screen, and

still repeatedly pressed restart, nothing happens at all.

Thank you in advance for your expert input.

You are welcome, @JURASSICWORLD !

It would interesting to see if the laptop will boot to the HP Recovery media that you made when you bought the computer.  I would give this a try to see if it is a software or driver problem.  If it boots to the Recovery media and you follow the instructions, the hard drive will be wiped clean and you will lose your personal data if you don't have a backup.

Hello,

Thank you for your very fast message.

What I have tried:

I have tried the "HP" "DISC 1 of 4"

: in an external USB "Blu-ray" drive (No Disc drive is built into the computer 😞 ).

: I tried it in all four USB ports (2x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0)

What happened:

: The computer turned on, and the HP logo came on and stayed.

: Nothing else happened, the logo stayed there even after 10 minutes of waiting (just in case of good luck).

I really like your expert views, I am happy to try more of your ideas.

Please may I request you give me more ideas to try.

Just say and I will try my best to do it.

🙂 Thank you in advance.

How do I get the above screen:

#1  Turn on the PC

#2  It shows the HP logo and is stuck on it, even for an hour, pressing any button on the keyboard, shows the

        above screen

#3  I try pressing the following, nothing happens: ESC. or  F1 - all the up to F12,  or  ENTER, DEL, A-Z

Your expert ideas are very welcomed, I am also very thankful for your time you put into helping me.

🙂

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

We opened the computer at the back.

We saw:

:HDD 2.5 inch

:Ram 2 x 8GB

:CMOS battery

We removed the:

:HDD 2.5 inch

:Ram 2 x 8GB

:CMOS battery and left it out for 5 minutes.

Then we put it all back in and turned on:

: Same symptoms

: Turns on, stuck at HP logo

: Press ESC, and then bottom right white text appears saying "Startup Menu". Nothing happens, no menu appears.

Please can you help me with more of your expert ideas. We are happy to try your expert ideas.

🙂

Thank you in advance

You are very welcome, @JURASSICWORLD!

It is difficult to diagnose a problem when you can't enter the BIOS.  I would like to test the hard drive.  I am beginning to consider that it may have failed without any warnings.  However, that still doesn't answer the question, "why can't you enter the BIOS"?  I am going to ask another Expert to take a look to see if he has any ideas.

@erico, do you have any advice for this situation?
