HP ENVY All-in-One - 32-a1002ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Hp Envy All-in-One 32-a1002ng, and since I've had it from December last year (meaning with all the previous drivers and bios version) the pc will freeze or lock up with no aparent reason at idle and the fans start spining up with no apparent reason and then slowing down, but the locking persists.

For example, sometimes the pc freezes when the mnnitor is on energy standby, and I can only tell that it locked up when I try to wake the monitor or hear the fans spinng up.

I've had system crashes and/or freezes when playing games. I could understand if that would happen with the GPU is under load due to poor drivers or overheating, but this is not the case, since as I said, it freezes at idle, with no load, randomly.

I've performed system checks with the Hp hardware diagnosis tool and no errors were detected, as well as multiple updates do software and bios since I've had the desktop with no changes whatsoever.

Please advise.

Specs:

OS is Windows 10 Home x64
Bios version is F.22

All recent windows update installed, as well as intel graphics and Nvidia drivers (461.92)

@BernardoT

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to back up your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows) You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
