HP Envy All-in-one won't boot

My HP Envy All-In-One (27-p-014) won't boot up.  Power indicator comes on and I get 3 long and 2 short sound beeps and the power indicator blinks the same way (3 long and 2 short).  The screen stays black.  The beeps cycle 5 times and then goes silent while the screen never lights up.  The computer is about 2 years old.  This happened all of a sudden.

As I understand the computer isn't turning on anymore & it's got beeping noises,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details: 

  • Have you reset the computer to release excessive static?

While you respond to that, The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter: 

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

If the issue persists, after you've gone through all the above steps as well, I recommend you Contact HP to have the device repaired:

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

 

They will be happy to assist you immediately. 

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

Welcome to the forum.

 

I am not an HP employee.

 

The POST error code indicates you have a memory problem.

 

The following troubleshooting steps are recommended by HP Support:

 

  1. Reseat memory.
  2. Correct memory configuration (correct DIMM placement and size/type matching).
  3. Test with known good memory.
  4. Replace affected component.

You will have to open the chassis to test each installed memory module in each memory slot to find the possible bad stick of memory.

 

You will have to replace the failing memory module with the same type memory.
