Hi all,

 

I have a HP Omen 880-070no desktop pc, which after trying to upgrade RAM started beeping 3 long and 2 short bios beeps.

From checking, this would mean a BIOS memory init failure. Tried swapping back to original RAM module, but still same result.

 

Troubleshooting performed:

- Tried RAM module in all 4 slots

- Tried to roll back bios using windows key and B while power up, but does not seem to respond

- Tried reset CMOS by removing clock battery for 30 sec and reboot

 

Nothing seems to help. Please, can anyone advise on what else to try?

Can you try inserting the "old", or the "new", RAM in a different computer? Is the RAM OK while in that computer?

 

Sad to say, but you may have damaged the motherboard, physically or electronically, when removing the "old" RAM.
