WOL is enable in BIOS but not working.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  It is a wonderful place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel!


I see that you are facing issues while using the Wake On Lan feature on your HP Pavilion Desktop. Ideally, the WOL feature is not supported in consumer desktops and laptops. However, I’d suggest you update the BIOS and then to make sure the option is turned on in Device Manager.


Update the BIOS from here: http://bit.ly/2hZcfMS 


Now, check the device manager settings as suggested below:

 

  1. Open Device Manager.

  2. Select Network adapters.

  3. Locate the LAN device and click on it.

  4. Select the Advanced tab.

  5. Confirm Shutdown Wake-On-Lan is enabled.

  6. Select the Power Management tab.

  7. Check the option Allow this device to wake the computer.

  8. Save changes.

  9. Close Device Manager.

Thanks for supported.

 

HP Pavilion 500-241x Desktop PC

I upgrade BIOS latest, enable WOL in BIOS and Windows ( Allow this device to wake the computer.) but not working.

 

I test on HP Prodesk 400 GT2 is working very good.

Hello, @ThanhTung

 

Like I mentioned in my previous post, this feature is only supported in commercial desktops and notebooks. It will not work well with a consumer desktop PC. 

Your HP Pavilion 500 is a consumer desktop and hence may not be supported by the WOL feature.
