HP Pavilion ALL-IN-ONE 22" not turning on

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion ALL-IN-ONE 22"
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion that won't turn on at all. I have tried 2 different power cards (1 came off of a working HP Pavilion) but no luck.

I have followed the direction from this video.  I still had no luck.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p37x1SShUTs

This thing is not turning on, no lights, no noise, no fan, no nothing.

The warranty ran out August 2017 so HP won't help.

The power cord that came with it, when plugged into the HP Pavilion, is making this wierd crimping noise over and over again. Like I said at the beginning I did try a different power cord that I know was working, but still no luck. I did check with a volt meter the power cord that was making the crimping noise and I am getting 19.5 volts.

I think I have 2 issues a bad motherboard and a bad power cord?

what now?

@finsfree

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand the device is no longer powering on,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you attempted to check with an alternate wall outlet?
  • Does the noise come out of the computer or the speaker?

While you respond to that, The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

https://hp.care/2FKQvyl

(simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

If the issue persists, and the sound/noise appears off the device and not its speakers,

Please Contact HP to have the device repaired:

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.
