If you're trying to install Linux, we do not provide support for Linux distros -- so in that case, you need to contact the support forum for the Linux distro you are trying to use.

this computer is at the end of support at hp, so no more documents ..
But I'm not sure it would change much
Most of the time this is not possible with old models.
provided the usb key is usable, all I can tell you is to check the bios options!
Place the key, and restart the computer, hit the Esc key several times, you should have the menu with boot option
If you have nothing, either the function is not possible or the key is not correct
