HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (4U8D7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Description of issue:

HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (4U8D7AV) continues to restart the device whenever the device is touched. Whenever the device is left untouched, the restart process begins and the computer turns on successfully. Immediately once it is touched, on any part of the device, including the mousepad, keyboard, screen, and device casing, the device powers off and begins the restart process again. The device powers off whenever the product is lifted, lightly touched, or moved. To summarize the preceding repetitive, emphasized statements, the device powers off and begins the restart cycle with ANY direct physical contact.

  • The device functions the same way whether it is actively plugged in or not.
  • The device has not received any changes to settings or system setup.
  • There is no damage to the exterior of the device.
  • The device may have internal components loose if no system issue can be diagnosed.
  • The device is fully charged.
  • The device has shown the default system error page after the device has restarted, on multiple occasions.
    • This page has the options: "Advanced Repair Options" and "Restart."
  • There have been no alterations to the device in any shape or form.
  • The problem was noticed whenever the device was needed for use and the preceding specified issues occurred.
  • The problem has been present for less than 24 hours.
  • The WI-FI connection is stable and sufficient.
  • The device will function whenever external mice and keyboards are being used.
    • This is the case only because there is no direct physical contact with the device.
  • Again, the device WILL function whenever there is NO direct physical contact.
    • Whenever there is no direct physical contact, the device does not restart or display errors. The device will function properly, allowing a sign-in to be made.
    • The device is just over a year old, or the device was newly purchased just over a year ago.

The device suddenly acquired this issue. The device powers off and restarts with ANY direct physical contact.
