HP Probook 450 with 256 GB M.2 does not recognize additional SATA 512GB SSD

Hi,

I have purchased a HP Probook 450 G5 with an internal 256 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.

I tried to insert in the notebook my existing SATA Samsung PM 871 2,5“ 512 GB hart disk.

If I remove the M2 and add the SATA I got the message that there is not hard disk in the computer.

If I leave the M2 in and connect additionally the SATA disk the disk is not visible at Windows.

Can I add in this computer only HP supported hard disks (in the manual I only find a description for:

Internes Laufwerk 1 TB SATA (5400 U/min)
500 GB SATA (7200 U/min)
512 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe TLC SSD
256 GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD
128 GB M.2 SATA TLC SSD

How can I run a "hard disk recognize" in the UEFI? I can´t find an entry for that.

The hard disk diagnostic tool says, that there is no hard disk in the computer.

I tried the SATA disk at another device and its working fine.

I tested the SATA disk after I used diskpart clean and I tested it also with a new created GPT partion.

I will not recogized by the system.

Regards,

Christian

Your new HP computer comes with a HP Warranty.

So, I suggest that you Contact HP, and get assistance from them.
