Hi @RAKESH2708,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Power Source:
- Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the desktop and the power outlet.
- Try plugging the desktop into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the outlet.
Power Supply Check:
- Make sure that there are no visible signs of damage to the power supply unit (PSU).
- If you suspect the PSU is faulty, consider testing it with a multimeter or by replacing it with a known good unit.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove the power cord from the desktop.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect the power cord and try to power on the desktop again.
Check for Loose Components:
- Open the case and ensure that all internal components (RAM, CPU, GPU, and storage drives) are securely seated.
- Check for any loose cables or connections inside the desktop.
Remove and Reinstall RAM:
- Sometimes, reseating the RAM can resolve power issues.
- Remove the RAM modules, clean the contacts with a soft brush, and reinstall them firmly.
Test with Minimal Configuration:
- Disconnect all non-essential components, such as additional drives, external devices, and any expansion cards.
- Try starting the desktop with only the essential components (CPU, one stick of RAM, and the power supply).
Check for Overheating:
- Ensure that the cooling system (fans and heatsinks) is working properly and that there is no dust accumulation blocking airflow.
- Check the thermal paste between the CPU and the cooler and reapply if necessary.
CMOS Battery:
- A failed CMOS battery can sometimes cause power issues.
- Replace the CMOS battery on the motherboard and reset the BIOS to default settings.
I hope this helps.
