Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Everyone.

I have a strange query..

I recently bought an 18TB external Western Digital USB3 drive for my Z420 tower,

but system boot will not get past the large black & white HP splash logo if the drive is connected.

I have to disconnect the USB3 cable - connecting the drive, then reboot without the drive connected, and then system boots with no problems, and then I can re-connect the drive and all is well.

I've tried all USB3 ports, various cables, alternate power bricks, and changed BIOS settings in Secure Boot - all to no avail.

I just updated firmware last night, and done quite a bit of research on the Texas Instruments USB3 driver + associated drivers, and as far as I can tell, I have everything up to date and correct.

I also have a wireless antenna connected, and if I attempt boot (with the WD drive uninstalled) BUT the wireless antenna connected, I get the same freeze on the HP splash screen - UNTIL, I disconnect the antenna, and then everything boots fine, and again, I can re-connect the antenna and off we go!

I initially thought the issue was a faulty USB3 component, but all ports work fine AFTER a complete boot - without any peripherals connected.

I'm stuck, guys, and any help would be amazing.

All the best.

Stephen
