HP Pavilion All-in-One 27-r178A
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just ran an update to the HP Support Assistant. The computer was working fine before but now it fails to boot - says no boot disk has been detected.

I've tried alternative boot methods with no success. This doesn't seem like a co-incidence to me (30+ years in IT!) so expect others may have had the same problem. The computer is out of warranty but the failure does seem to be directly caused by the HP Support Assistant upgrade so hopefully they can help with a solution.

Has anyone had the same experience and/or found a solution?

Thanks.

What happens if you physically remove the disk-drive, and then connect it as a "secondary" disk-drive in another computer?

Is the disk-drive "detected"? If so, can you read any files from it?
