HP Z400 Gerforce 7 card compatibility problem-boot is very slow + everytime crash, Freedos slow too

z400

Hello,

i have strange problem with otherwise working machine, i want to use Geforce 7950GT and 7900GS, i have 3 working Gerforce 7 cards, different vendors, which i want to use for some retro gaming.

Problem is that is something wrong with z400 and these cards, right from boot is something bad, even MS DOS on USB or Freedos has very, very slow responses for every operation - stupid himem start took a minute, change directory in Norton took 20 sec.. normal Windows OS crashing during boot, but other cards (Geforce 220GT / Geforce 8400GS) are working fine.

PCI-E conector is connect, i Bios i see that board has PCI-E Gen2, my cards are GEN1, usually is in the Bios possibility to downgrade a PCI-E GEN 1 for some card, but i didn find it in my bios.

Update: I tested slot 3 - it should be GEN1 its same.

   BIOS works fine.

  No other cards in machine.
PCI-E power is connected, cards are 60-90 TDP, so there should be problem. Its not storage problem.
Last  Bios 3., last video bios on cards.

  Had anyone same problem?

It looks like some incompatiblity with Geforce 7, i never had similar problem. Could someone test Geforce 7xxx card to?
