HP Recommended

Hi,

I have an old HP Z800 and suddenly it shut down and will not power up anymore. When pressing the power button the green power led lights up, case fans and both processor fans take a quick spin for a second and then power button flashes twice red one second apart, then has a longer pause and then one more red flash. And that is it. It will not power on. It fails in one second from turning the power on.

I cannot find this 2 + 1 flash sequence anywhere. I have removed the graphics card, all memories, both processors (tried one at a time to see of other has failed) but nothing helps. Also removed CMOS battery and left the case without power for quite some time. Tried hard reset by holding down the power button for a long while. I have also tried with another power unit. Both of them have a green led when plugging in and turning on.

Any idea? If I have understood correctly the sequence for overheating is not what I am seeing, also processor failure would be three red blinks (I tested this by removing processor 0).

Any ideas what could be the reason and where to look for a fix?

Thanks for helping!
