Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

Yesterday I decided to put SSD in my HP desktop and to install a fresh OS. At same time, I change CMOS battery. On first boot I informed that BIOS (v. 7.15) takes basic settings. So, I presumed that I need to visit BIOS settings and put things on my will.

But, after I enter BIOS with ESC key, I see that I cannot change anything except date and time.

That's because Computer Setup and Boot Menu sections ask for passwords. I never set any password in past. I try just to press Enter, but after 3 attempts PC exits BIOS and going forward (to booting from HDD). After each Enter, I just got a Key icon with "X" on them.

So, what I need to do? Is it any default password? BIOS is obviously reset after battery changing, but password protection on that 2 sections stays.

Thank you.

The last section from MB dedicated site "Clearing the Password settings"  brings a solution to my problem.

Everything is fine now.

Thank you for your quick reply and efforts.
