HP1155 very slow booting

HP 1155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On boot up, the screen indicates the cycling icon in the middle and then goes black after 5min, then the screen starts to show status line after 1 min, then the screen icons after 2 minutes.  Click on google and it takes 2 minutes to display completely on the screen

HP1155 very slow booting

Greetings Deano4,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not an HP employee.

I would tend to think a very slow PC can be caused by a number of causes:

1. HP is only supporting W8 or W8.1 on your product. So you have to rely on Microsoft to provide stable system drivers.

2. Do you have a lot of startup items? Check Task Manager, Startup tab to see the list and how much time it takes W10 to get to the Desktop. You should be able to disable some stuff to improve OS load times.

3. Your PC's hardware is not up to running W10 (HDD,processor, RAM, and Graphics system). Or you might see a performance boost by adding more RAM. Replace your HDD (if applicable) with a SATA SSD. This upgrade really provides the best bang for the buck.

Do you periodically clean junk and temp files?

Run some HP diagnostics. Run the Microsoft System File Checker.

You could try above suggestions to see if any help.

Sometimes it is best to do a clean installation of Windows. Back up the important stuff before doing a clean installation.

It may be time to go back to W8.1 if all of the above actions fail to improve system responsiveness. Back up data first.

Regards
