Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Attempting to start my desktop results in a 3FO Boot Device not found error msg on a black screen. I tried the HP suggestions to discover that my NVMe 256GB Toshiba drive has failed. The system is out of warranty. Repair or replace?

You're very welcome.

Sorry, for the confusion.  I always seem to have notebooks on my mind and yes, the same info would apply.

The drive needs to be replaced, and the operating system reinstalled.

A suggested replacement:  This is the 1 TB model for example, but it comes in smaller capacities as well.

Amazon.com: SAMSUNG 980 SSD 1TB PCle 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 2280, Internal Solid State Drive, Storage for P...

If the notebook is in excellent condition, you can replace the NVMe SSD yourself for way less than $100 and that includes installing a 1 TB NVMe SSD instead.

The NVMe256GB KBG30ZMV256G failed drive is actually in my desktop (HP Envy - TE01-0077c ; product ID 6YQ76AA.)  The diagnostics testing yielded a failure ID of RU3V5R-A0AC8B-QF8XGK-60A803.  If your reply still applies to my desktop, that is indeed very helpful news.  Thanks.

I plan to follow Paul's suggestion for replacing the drive on my current desktop to serve as a backup, and start shopping for a new desktop soon.  Is there a consensus on the best brand?

A big thank you goes out to Paul, especially for the extra help provided with the hot links.
