Hard disk error

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On startup I have gotten a hard disk error message several times, but both the short and long diagnostic tests show as passing. What should my next step be in trying to determine what is going on?

Please describe the error message.


Was it a POST error message or Windows error message?


Run a check disk (Link).


Back up data, create a backup disk image on external media, and create a recovery USB stick to plan for a possible recovery scenario.


 I use Macrium Reflect free (Link) to create a backup image and bootable rescue media.
