Hard disk failure?

HP ENVY h8-1427
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I have an HP ENVY h8-1427 and I think the hard drive may have failed. I get a message saying 'No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed'. I've run the HP basic diagnostic tools and it only sees the network card and DVD drive, not the hard drive. A beeping noise is emitted from the PC on startup. Does that sound like HDD failure? If so, can anyone recommend the best replacement hard drive?

According to the specs I could find, your PC came with a 2TB 3.5  inch 7200RPM drive, so any other 3.5 inch 2TB will suffice.  I would consider well-known drive vendors like Western Digital, Seagate, or Toshiba. 

I just did a quick scan of 2TB drives at Micro Center, and Seagate and Toshiba 2TB 7200RPM drives are available for around $60 USD.
