8560p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear,

I have this 8560p laptop Wich works like a charm even for its age. I only have a issue with hibernating. It simply won't. Everything turns off and after a little bit it completely shuts down instead of hibernating. When I push the power button it reboots. But it opens the apps what was open before I tried to get the laptop in hibernation. Also when I close the lid it goes off. But does not respond to opening the screen. I have to push manually the power button.

Is there a way to fix this? It is the only thing which is annoying about the laptop at the moment.

Thanks in advance

That is what "hibernation" is supposed to do -- to resume your computer exactly the way it was when it started to hibernate.

Thanks for your answer, I guess i got it wrong them. I have seen laptops when opening the lid it opens on the lock screen. While i see the boot sequence again (HP logo and Windows startup) Is this a option i can select? Or is it simply not possible with this laptop to open at lock screen after opening screen?

There is a difference between "low-power" mode (open the lid to see the "lock" screen) and a power-off after hibernation (the motherboard powers up, and then "un-hibernates"). Check the "power" and "sleep" settings within Windows.
